Last week, we introduced you to Teachstone trainers Curry Ander, Lisa Criss, Mary-Margaret Gardiner, and Sarah Hadden. This week, we’d like to introduce you to Sherilyn Crump, Jeannine Ernst, Cierra Johnson, Daniel LaCava, and Tracy Jones who also will be contributing regularly to the Affiliate Trainer Blog.

Sherilyn Crump, Staff Trainer

curry-anderSherilyn (Sheri) joined the Teachstone team the summer of 2013. During her years serving as a Head Start Education Coordinator, Sheri became a CLASS observer and then an affiliate CLASS trainer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Family Studies from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Her professional experience also includes child-care directing, preschool teaching, parent education, and training adults in the field.

Sheri resides in Elkhart, Indiana—though she is a Michigander through and through! She enjoys writing and reading poetry, visiting historic sites and landmarks, watching really good movies, and spending time with family!

 

Jeannine Ernst, Staff Trainer

lisa-crissJeannine has been working in the field of Early Childhood for over 20 years. She has a B.A. in Early Childhood education and Master’s in Child Development. Her professional experience includes teaching children 2 to 5 years of age, providing Early Intervention services in Illinois as a Developmental Therapist, supervising other Early Childhood professionals, and conducting Pre-K and Toddler CLASS® observations for the Chicago Public Schools.

Jeannine joined the Teachstone team at the beginning of 2015 and is very excited about improving outcomes for children by training others to assess teacher-child interactions in programs nationwide! She conducts Pre-K, Toddler & Infant Observation trainings.

She currently resides in Frankfort, Illinois, a suburb south of Chicago, where she lives with her four children and their dog, Walter, and cat, Sophie.

When not working, Jeannine enjoys biking, practicing yoga, cooking, spending time outdoors and of course spending time with her children who keep her very busy.

 



Cierra Johnson, Staff Trainer

marymargaret-gardinerCierra is a Texan through and through, having lived in Austin, Texas for most of her life. She I have been using CLASS for almost 3 years. Prior to come to Teachstone, she served as a mentor coach for a Quality Initiatives Program. Cierra is currently working on a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education with a Specialization in Adult Learning Principles at Walden University.

Cierra conducts Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K Observation trainings.

Cierra is always up for a new challenge! She loves to travel and meet new people, which makes her an ideal member of the training team. When she’s not training, Cierra can usually be found planning her next trip or just hanging out with friends.




Daniel LaCava, Staff Trainer

Sarah-HaddenDaniel came to Teachstone from Los Angeles in 2010 after graduating from Loyola Marymount University with an M.A. in education. Prior to that he received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Arkansas. His initial work with the CLASS was as an observer on the Gates Foundation's Measures of Effective Teaching study, before contributing to many projects for both UVA's Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning, as well as for Teachstone. He has been training with a focus on the UE and Secondary tools since 2011, and more recently attained Pre-K and K-3 trainer certifications.

Daniel spends most of his free time rock climbing or snowboarding in the deserts and mountains of Utah, where he currently lives. He was recently ordained as a minister in order to officiate his little sister's wedding. 



Tracy Jones, Staff Trainer

Tracy_Jones.jpgTracy has over 20 years of experience as an educator. Tracy has been a Toddler, Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade teacher. Tracy was also the Director of an Episcopalian Day School and a University-based Child Development Center. Prior to joining Teachstone, Tracy worked at a Child Care Resource and Referral Agency where she wore many hats including trainer, coach, and CDA professional Development Specialist. Tracy conducts Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K Observation trainings.

During her travels with Teachstone, Tracy continues to search for wives for her 3 adult, handsome, employed single sons who have boomeranged back home.
