Last week at the National Head Start (NHSA) Annual Conference in Washington, DC, we were honored to recognize the winners of the 2015 NHSA-Teachstone Scholarship Awards. These NHSA members embody the spirit of our work at Teachstone, where we recognize the parallel process centered on supporting teachers in their most critical role in the classroom: educating and nurturing the youngest members of the next generation.

Please join me in congratulating these dedicated professionals who work daily to improve the lives of young children in their Head Start programs:

  • Norma Arreola, ECE Specialist, Western Arizona Council of Government, Yuma, AZ
  • Letha Cannon, Education Resource Specialist at the Community Action Partnership of North Alabama (CAPNA), Decatur, AL
  • Phyllis Florea, Education Administrator, Douglass Community Services, Hannibal, MO
  • Rebeca Millan, Curriculum Specialist, Redlands Christian Migrant Association, Immokalee, FL
  • Eileen Orleman, Curriculum Specialist, Orange County Head Start, Orlando, FL
  • Lance Reed, Curriculum Supervisor, Starfish Family Services Birth to Five, Detroit, MI
  • Sydney Roach, Education Coordinator, Region 16 ESC Head Start Program, Amarillo, TX

Scholarship winners receive:

  • Free registration for Teachstone’s Instructional Support Strategies or Feedback Strategies trainings during a regional training.
  • An opportunity to meet with Teachstone’s CLASS experts
  • Recognition at Teachstone’s 50th Anniversary Head Start Conference and Expo (and we were thrilled to have Lance and Rebeca join us at our reception on April 1st!)
  • Recognition on Teachstone’s website

Congratulations!
