On September 18, the Teachstone team participated in United Way’s Day of Caring. A group of us braved the “cold” morning and headed over to Cale Elementary School to get to work on refurbishing the school’s courtyard garden. The cheers from the students and thanks from the teachers kept us going all morning long.

As someone who does not garden, I was grateful for our awesome green-thumb team members who taught me all there is to know about weeding and mulching. In no time, we pulled up the Bermuda grasses and cut down the black-eyed Susans (a flower, but apparently it grows like a weed—who knew!?). Our trusty wheelbarrow man, Morgan (a.k.a. our DevOps Engineer) kept the mulch coming, and between Amanda, Larry, Margaret, Shantron, Susan, Jane, and Leigh, the Teachstone team got that garden ready for planting.

We can’t wait to see what flowers Cale picks to plant and hope to visit and see the garden in full bloom!
