Proposal FAQs: InterAct CLASS Summit 2018

Improving child outcomes is our shared mission, but the way each of us approaches this goal is varied and diverse. Whether you are implementing a new PD initiative, researching best practices, or mentoring individual teachers—the summit will offer sessions that inspire you to transform new knowledge into action. The InterAct CLASS Summit of 2018— every keynote, session, and networking event—will be designed to help you Maximize Your Impact Today and Tomorrow.

Sessions at InterAct CLASS Summit are fun, interactive, and purposeful. We also want to ensure that sessions will cover a wide variety CLASS perspectives and settings.

    • CLASS across system levels as a parallel process (teachers, coaches, leaders, families)

FAQs

What's the average session size? Sessions will have between 60-85 attendees.

Who attends? School administrators, center directors, coaches/educational specialists, key leaders of national organizations, researchers, and educators.

What were the previous popular sessions? From the feedback we received after previous InterAct CLASS Summits, we know people like to hear a story. They like to hear about the bumps in the road, and how you got over them, the successes and failures. Attendees have let us know that they are particularly interested in attending more sessions around research, DLL, and K-12 use of CLASS. Last year's most visited sessions were about coaching and professional development and celebrated a community of continuous improvement.

When will I find out if my proposal has been accepted? We will inform you if your submission is accepted on January 15.

How are proposals selected? A small group of reviewers will blindly review all proposals against a rubric. This means that reviewers will not see who submitted proposals until final selections have been made. They will be looking to see that sessions are interactive, relevant for the audience, and purposeful.

Will I need to submit my slides in advance? No, but you will have two one-on-one calls with an organizer from Teachstone. He or she is your resource and partner in helping you plan your presentation.

Will sessions be shared out during/after the Summit? Attendees will have access to any shared materials during the event via the conference app. Afterward, attendees will be emailed a link to a shared folder with all materials. However, sharing slides or handouts is optional and not required for presenters to do.

Do presenters get a registration discount? One presenter per session will be guaranteed a discounted registration rate of $200.
