Last week, as we say good-bye to the school year and hello to the grant-writing season, I shared a summary of the Early Head Start Expansion and HHS Child Care Partnership Grant. At the end of the post, I promised to share a few resources to review for those beginning to frame their application response. Here they are!

  • Ginny Vitiello, our Research & Evaluation Director, has gathered resources on the Teachstone website that provide background research on the CLASS system and teacher-child interactions. She's also written a wonderful blog post on recent teacher-child interaction research.
  • Teachstone has published whitepapers on family child care, dual language learners, and special education. These are available to download and provide valuable information on how the CLASS measure is used in various settings.
  • For more information on the Infant CLASS measure, check out Sara Diamond’s overview blog post, Ginny Vitiello’s post on the development of the Infant measure, or download our free webinar, Infants, Toddlers, and the CLASS Measure: Developmentally Appropriate Practices presented by yours truly.
  • As you begin to develop your professional development plan around teacher-child interactions, review the face-to-face and online services that Teachstone has provided to thousands of Head Start classrooms across the country.
  • Zero to Three has developed a wonderful resource center that pulls together the webinars, toolkits, and fact sheets that ACF provided in advance of the RFP release.
  • As I mentioned in my last post, you can also fill out the form on this page to receive our new Implementation Guide (coming out later this summer), which will have lots of resources to help you think through how to leverage the CLASS system in your organization.

These are just a few resources to review as you begin the grant writing process. Over the next few weeks, we'll be providing additional information on our blog that can be used in the Early Head Start Expansion and EHS Child Care Partnership Grant and the Preschool Development Grants.

Teachstone can also provide grant language and budget information to include in your proposal. We have written many grants during our tenure in early childhood education and would love to help! Email me at rebecca.berlin@teachstone.com and we can schedule a time to talk.
