Interim Director, You Thrive Early Learning
Lee Ann Vega doesn't just work in Head Start — she was raised by it.
As a child, Lee Ann's mother struggled with addiction and ultimately left the family. Head Start was there when she wasn't. It gave Lee Ann and her family stability during a time when they had almost none of their own — and it planted something in her that never left: a belief that this program doesn't just prepare children for kindergarten, it can change the entire trajectory of a family's life. She would know. It changed hers.
That belief has carried her through every role Head Start has to offer since 2014 — Teacher, ERSEA Manager, Education Manager, and now Interim Director of Early Learning Programs at You Thrive Florida, where she leads Head Start, Early Head Start, and Home Base services. She has sat on both sides of this work: as the child once served by this program, and now as the leader responsible for making sure it shows up the same way for the next family that needs it.
At Teachstone, we’re helping educators worldwide leverage the proven power of interactions to help more students thrive.
