Dimension: Positive Climate
Scenario: During centers, a small group of children interact together in the kitchen play area. The teacher sits at a table outside the kitchen area, cutting newspaper strips for another activity. The children find her and enthusiastically “serve” her the play pizza they have made. When they ask, “Is it yummy?” she responds, “Yes, it’s very good” and smiles briefly. One child says, “My brother got pizza on his birthday!” and the teacher responds, “That’s nice.”
