Black lives matter. Each and every one.

Last week we saw, once again, the horrors perpetrated on our black community at the hands of the police and at the hands of racist and ignorant citizens. For Teachstone’s staff, clients, and partners who are black, we see the sadness, anger, and fear that none of us should have to endure. We know this feeling is far from new but it crested again last week on top of the additional suffering placed upon the black community during the COVID-19 crisis.

We stand in solidarity with the family of George Floyd and all families who have ever been impacted by violence that came unjustly. George Floyd was someone’s child. As individuals, we are first and foremost sons, daughters, mothers, fathers; and as an organization, we are passionate child advocates. Our hearts are broken and we are outraged.

We will not allow systemic racism to go unchallenged. There is a profound need to act differently. We must move from empathy to action. Right now.

Today, Teachstone is committing to taking action to be bold in our stand against racism. Not just for our team but for the educators we support and the children in their care.

Our efforts as an organization alone will not nearly be enough. We will hold ourselves and each other accountable to act now in order to create a future in which all children can achieve the fullness of their potential.

Join us.
